RE: I do not know if i can go camping after my wife passed away

First off, let me say sorry for your loss, your wife was you companion for many years.
Don't do anything rash, you enjoyed camping with your grandkids, and made memories you can still enjoy, but it may be a "bit" before you are ready.
How old are the Grandkide?? Did they like going out with you half as much as my Neices, Nephews did with me??
I know you can't even think about this yet, but there are many people out there, traveling alone in simular situations................so, as time passes, you might enjoy "Talking" with some of these people.
Try to find a Support group of somekind, we MEN tend to bottle things up inside, and it slowly kills us!!!
Once again, so sorry for your loss, time should help to make it less painful. Hang in there.

RE: Blowing Out Water Lines with 12 Volt Water Pump

Well, its really not a bad idea, and its done all the time, by people forgetting , or leaving their water pump on, and pumping their tank dry, till the battery runs out.
These times are by accident though.
I unhook my tank, run the pressure up, open closest line opening, (faucet), and leave my pump on for 2-3 min. Then work way to furthest line opening.
Been doing it for years, newer sure flo pump.
Then, I put the pink stuff in.
I noticed you said "newer sure flo pump." What happened to the older one? Did you burn it out running it dry?
Nope, I UPGRADED from the STOCK PUMP, which as we all know, is a CHEAP item , which does the job, but not as well as a NEWER ONE :W
But, thanks for your concern, it is nice to know we care about each other here!!:B

RE: What is Piston Slap?

How did GM fix this non-problem?
Easy, they NON FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:B
And US automakers wonder why people dont like their products.:h
Like if I bought a new Television, and everytime I turned it on, a HIGH PITCH squeal came out for ............say the first 15 seconds, so loud it could shatter glass...:E.....but after that it's fine. Kind of like that .
It does not effect the Television, just those around it.
But there is "Nothing wrong" with the TV .:R

RE: Towing in windy conditions...

Well, to start with ..............IF YOU ARE ON THE PHONE, you are not giving the task at hand FULL ATTENTION.GET off the phone. ( If I was in a white knuckle situation, I would turn my radio off, make it quiet as possible, to CONCETRATE ON TASK at hand).!!!!!!!!!!!
Second, since he was asking for help, advise.:W.............if it is TOO WINDY you do not feel confortable.....then park!!!
The only way you learn these things, is thru experence, and asking Questions, of other people who MAY have been in these situations.:h

RE: Which generator and where to put it?

I looked long and hard, talked to people running them, dealers , etc......... AND went with the EU3000is.:B
I love it, it runs my AC with no problems, and is VERY fuel efficient.:W
It is big and heavy, which helps it to stay where it is.

RE: New Heartland ? & towing w/F250 ?

Well, I dont really want to comment on the truck, because everyone has their own comfort zone.
HOWEVER............... I have been to the Jayco Plant a few times, and to the Heartland plant a few times(Rallys), and the Heartland HANDS DOWN is a better built trailer.........Period!!!!
The "Guy's" at Heartland, are great................and the owners of their rigs, are the salt of the earth!!!!!!!!!!!
I have NEVER met an unhappy Heartland owner ( That dosen't mean there arent any)! , all their owners are the companys best salespeople, and the Quality control, Manufacturers support, in my view, are second to none!!!!!!!
They are on my Very short list, when I get ready to buy a newer trailer ( I dont buy new, loss on first owner , depreciation, ....., etc.....)

RE: broke down 08

Don't know if this helps, BUT.............on our new Fire Truck, it has a setting for HIGH IDLE, that makes you think the thing is going to take off, towards the moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:E
I haven,t watched the tach much, when in this setting, (usually too busy doing other things.:W.L.O.L.) but they Detroit diesel says to idle it in HIGH IDLE basically most of the time!!!
You prob dont have a HIGH IDlE setting on your bus.............A stick cut to the right length?????????? Oh, make sure the BRAKE is set...:B...L.O.L. !!!!!
When we were training on the new truck, we had to regen every few days, as we ended up doing a lot of slow idle.
Hope it helps, but , you need to have a dealer check the engine, just in case.

RE: UPDATE Oil at $60 a barrel?

Keep Dreaming, but let me give you my prediction - You ain't never going to see $80.00 oil again - ever. Unless Congress changes their Energy Policy, or what I meant was lack of an Energy Policy. Or actually, maybe that is their policy, Do Nothing. In my business we call it the null alternative which is just a cute why of doing nothing. That is really what they are good at, a lot of huffing and puffing and end up doing nothing but going on vacations.
Gee, guess your crystal ball, might have a small crack in it........oil today at $86.00, and still falling.:h
I am glad to see , you are heading to being wrong!!!!!:B!!!!!!!
Keep up, being wrong, we like it.

Sorry to hear about your accident, BUT, it sounds like you will be ok, and.................a new chance to start over again.
You should be able to get a HECK of a deal right now, winter coming on, RV sales in the toilet, etc..
Take those lemons you were just handed, and make a big ole ' pitcher of lemonade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ps, I have to travel about 100-125 miles to find a Texas Roadhouse, I know what you are talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!1
